Better compatible Element or Compatible Zodiac?

Hi, I'm a male Water Monkey born in 1992 and there's two girls I like: one is 1995 Wood Pig and the other is 1996 Fire Rat.
I know Monkey and Rat are very compatible, and Monkey and Pig are not. But in the other hand, Water is very compatible with Wood, and not good with Fire.
Is it better to choose to be compatible with the Zodiac, so therefore I'd choose the Rat girl, even though she's Fire?
Or is it better to be compatible with the Element, so is better to choose the Wood girl, even though she's Pig?

It's much better to choose to be compatible with the Zodiac, so therefore you'd better choose the Rat girl, even though she's Fire. Zodiac sign is more important than the five element in Chinese astrology.
