phoenix eye is no longer complete

I used to have a clear complete phoenix eye/Confucius eye on my thumbs. I recently noticed that it is no longer complete and the bottom left part of the eye (on my right thumb) is missing, so the eye is no longer fully complete. Why is that and what does it mean?
